Visit to "Dzouku", The Tribal Kitchen at Hauz Khas Village New Delhi.

Being from Assam, I always look for NorthEast Food. At times Naga Cuisine has become very popular among People. Not only NE people, but now it has adjusted to the palate of North Indian People too. As people are becoming more health conscious, they prefer to go for boiled food with natural herbs as taste makers..With my journey to explore NE food, I found about Dzouku on one Naga Blog. There was no other advertisement on any site. We from our Foodies Adda group planned to visit the place and explore more about the food.

Barbequed Pork Ribs

Akhuni with dry fish

Chicken with dry Yam leaves

Chicken with Fresh Bamboo Shoots

Fermented Soya beans (Akhuni)
As we entered Hauz Khas Village, we stopped by one newly opened Restaurant and there was a NE boy standing and working for the restaurant, we asked him the location and he happily took us to the place. and the boy didnt forget to ask us about the food while returning back from the restaurant.

As we entered Dzouku, we found some beautiful people with smiling face, welcoming us and lead us to the Terrace Restaurant. As we entered the Terrace, we couldnot believe that there could be such a beautiful place in New Delhi . It was beautiful lake view . Then came the owner of the place Carrol , a very friendly and smart entrepreneur. She cooks herself for guests and do not compromise with the food quality.

Pork with Fresh Bamboo Shoots
We had Chicken with fresh Bamboo shoots, Pork with fresh Bamboo shoots, Chicken with dry Yam leaves, Akhuni with dry fish, Akhuni with whole beans , Fried Chicken with chillies . I must add here that all the dishes were cooked with "Zero Fat". and there was no raw or pungent smell of meat.
Our main attraction and choice was to eat Barbequed Pork Ribs. and everybody liked the pork. We all recommend the place to try the Naga Food at Dzouku., Hauz Khas Village.
Some of our friends found as the food was served with less portions comparatively to the price but if we check the quality and authenticity of the food, it is fine and adjustable. Meal for two 800/- INR.
