Visit to Iraqi Restaurant.

All these years in delhi, i never ever thought that there could be a Iraqi restaurant in New Delhi.. One day i heard from my friends that there is one restaurant in lajpat nagar, so went there to check the food.. As i am very much interested in knowing different cuisines, I didnt give a second thought to go there..

The place is in a crowded residential area and when you reach there and checking at the signboard, you feel like you have come to Iraq.  Ambiance was very clean. Boys who serves speaks good english, so language was not a problem there. I found there that most of the items were grilled. so we ordered grilled chicken and grilled fish. , Iraqi rajma curry, stir fry brinjals, humus , iraqi bread and tea.. They served grilled chicken and fish with pulao, garnished with nuts and seviyan . Chicken was juicy and with skin .Fish was Rohu , and it was good too.. Brinjal was stir fried with capsicums and onions and lots of vinegar.. I liked Iraqi Bread which was thin and soft.. they make the bread in special griddle , so it was with design ( check the picture).
Iraqi rajma was just baked beans with tomato gravy. It was not the regular rajma. They add meat in rajma on special occasions. Humus was good with bread.

I liked their tea. Normally they make it with some black lemon , which they soak it overnight and then make the tea. they use it for marinating chicken also ... Since the lemon was not available on that day, we had normal black tea , which they served on very beautiful cup and saucer.
Overall my experience at the restaurant was good. But i must add here that very few ladies go there to eat , so i would advice ladies to go at day time. Although it is safe to go there , but ladies could feel little uncomfortable with the atmosphere there , as in the evening all youngsters gather at the restaurant and they smoke and play their special iraqi game which is like carom ..

Price is affortable . If you really feel like to have authentic Iraqi food in the heart of the city, you must visit this place .
